The Department of Biology spearheaded by Dr. Leila Ombat conducted a 4-day training course to the Department of Education teachers last November 22-25, 2017 in Caraga State University. Fifty Science teachers in the high school and elementary participated the training.The purpose of the training was to build the capability of the teachers on practical work approach in teaching science thru the conduct of field and laboratory work. This was also done to achieve the goals of performance or outcomes-based education for the participants in their research activity.

The whole week of November 20-24, 2017 will be another CSU accreditation week with the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
Caraga State University is the Regional Winner of Meralco Energy Leadership Award, a Special category of the 2017 National Search for Sustainable and Eco-friendly Schools. The award is given to institutions that promote practices and initiatives in electrical safety, energy efficiency, and conservation measures. The energy conservation programs of CSU includethe implementation of CSU-VPA Memorandum No. 25.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Caraga Region has awarded Caraga State University as the Best Model Partner in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) Expanded Students Grants-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA).
CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso received the award with other members of the CSU Executive Committee, Dr.Jayrold Arcede and Dr. Fernando Herrera during the Pantawid Pamilya Regional Partners’ Summit 2017 last November 8, 2017 at the Big Daddy Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City. Dr. Penaso was also asked to deliver a short message.
