Seven Science Faculty Members were sent to the Summer Programs dubbed as @Silpakorn 2018 held at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand last July 31 to August 9, 2018. Accordingly, the summer program aims to publicize academics and research innovation, and promote cooperation and collaboration with other universities in the international level. The summer camp was participated by faculty members, researchers and graduate students from universities in Laos, Philippines and Vietnam.

The CSU Science faculty members were Mr. Kenneth L. Ciudad and Ms. Jessa Mae T. Lazarte from the Department of Natural Sciences, Mr. Ian Niel B. dela Cruz and Mr. Brent Joy H. Hernando from the Department of Biology, Mr. Erwin N. Arlan and Ms. Abigael J. Dangate from the Department of Mathematics, and Ms. Rezel M. Sagarino from the Department of Agriculture.

The CSU Representatives were assigned to the four different programs: Ms. Lazarte for Solar Drying, Mr. Ciudad and Mr. Dela Cruz for the Preparation of Colorant from Natural Dyes, Mr. Arlan and Ms. Dangate for Number Theory, and Mr. Hernando and Ms. Sagarino on Water Analysis. Other participants to the ten-day summer camp were faculty members, researchers, and graduate students from universities in Laos, Philippines, and Vietnam.

The training was relevant for faculty development and exposure to internationalization, particularly on ASEAN Integration. The delegates experienced first-hand trainings that enhanced their knowledge and skills. They learned the essentials and recent innovations in research and development.

Their exposure to another university and diverse surrounding is beneficial to the general CSU community.  Their active participation opens more possibilities as they develop friendship and ties with the other participants that can lead to future collaborations.
