Caraga State University once again produced two topnotchers in the concluded 2019 Forester’s Licensure Exam.

Debbie Jale Tambor placed 7th with a rating of 91.20, while Junalyn Villafane landed at 8th place with 91.15, a few points behind Tambor.

Tambor is the oldest among the four children of the family. “When I was in third year college, my parents parted ways. I almost quit school then as I was challenged financially, emotionally, and spiritually, but my faith in God never faltered, I survived the trials,” she said during the Forestry Night event. She said that she had no idea how she made it to the top ten list. She only kept on praying just to pass the exam.

Villafane is the youngest of the family. She said when she took the CSU scholarship and admission test, her mother was confined in the hospital and passed away after her enrolment in the university. Several months after, her father remarried, but she is still grateful to have her two older brothers who were very supportive of her.

As she promised to her mother, she continued her studies with hard work to get a degree. “When you have that desire in your heart to finish school, you will. And if you have that goal to pass the exam (FLE), it will truly come, just trust yourself and persevere” she said.

According to her, attitude really matters when doing the review. “It is how you discipline yourself. It is how you manage your time. And when some people belittle your ability, just don’t mind them. Make their dislike an inspiration to do more and better yourself” she added.

Tambor and Villafane were both hailed cum laude during the 42nd Commencement Exercise held at Sanchez gymnasium last May this year.

The two gave honor to God for their achievement; and to be grateful in everything even with a  small thing.

For six consecutive years, CSU has produced forestry topnotchers who bring honor to their alma matter. CSU have been in the list of Professional Regulations Commission since 2011. WDV/pico
