Dr. Paluga wins CHED Regional Republica Awards
Esamel M. Paluga, Ph.D. in Mathematics and currently the Director of Planning and Development of the Caraga State University (CSU), emerged as the 2009 Regional winner of the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Research and Publication Awards (REPUBLICA) last February 2010.
Dr. Paluga’s research entry was entitled "Monophonic Number of the Join and Composition of Graphs" with Dr. Sergio R. Canoy of MSU-IIT as co-author.
In the awarding ceremony held last May 19, 2010 at CHED Manila, Dr. Paluga received Php50,000.00 and a plaque of recognition for her work with Dr. Canoy. Also present from CSU in the awarding ceremony were Dr. Joanna B. Cuenca, the University President, and Mr. Rey Capangpangan. Other important personalities present from the Office of CHED (as shown in the photo below) were Atty. Julito Vitriolo, Ched Executive Dirctor, Dr. William C. Medrano, Commissioner, Dr. Angel Alcala, former Ched Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles, Ched Chairman and Dr. Virginia Akiate, Director of Ched in Caraga.
The Republica Awards of CHED are offered biennially to recognize and award outstanding research outputs leading to significant advances in priority disciplines and contributing to the national development. The competition was launched by CHED to encourage researchers to publish their research outputs in reputable refereed journals. (Please click Rebuplica Awards to know more about the competition).
