CSU grabs 7th, 9th spots in GE Board Exam 2010

by: Engr. Sonia Ibarra-Buscano, CEIT - CSU made it again!

Caraga State University (CSU) clutched 7th and 9th places in the recently concluded Geodetic Engineer Licensure Examination held in Manila this September 2010. An authentic tagline, “We made it again!”, filled the ambience of the CSU community especially in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT).

Based on the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) result, the CSU passing rate is 88.89 % (8 out of 9 takers) which is a figure markedly up against the National passing of 38.50 % (154 out of 400). This asserts a trend-setting performance of this university’s GE program in engendering topnotch engineers and a prominent passing status.

The new Geodetic Engineers are the following:
1. Abarca, Jay O. (7th place)
2. Apat, Gladys Mae
3. Barrientos, Nino S.
4. Efren, Ronielo R.
5. Felias, Almer J.
6. Morden, Mark Anthony J.
7. Piloton, Romar Z.
8. Plaza, Gretchen Naneth G. (9th place)

As retrospection, GE recorded a four-year-straight notable board exam outcome in CSU history and in the national scene. Milestone embarked on 2007 with two graduates snatching the 4th and 8th places; 2008 with two in the 5th and 9th; 2009 with a 2nd placer, and this year with another two in the 7th and 9th spots. Summing it up, seven topnotchers for merely eight years of producing GE graduates with its pioneering batch in 2003. Solely missed by the university are the 1st, 3rd, 6th and 10th places to technically complete the Top 10 roster of the GE profession.

Good job University mentors!!! We are proud of you. Thanks for engraving CSU in producing quality graduates and ranking for Board Examinations as well. I'm sure graduates will have great job opportunities in abroad. This merit will be the eye catcher of the pretegious company who are coming to the our country in the search for productive company staff. I hope a Degree in Geology and Metallurgy will be opened soon.
