Google Applications in CSU

In August 2009, the then NORMISIST Web Team partnered with Google, Inc., and presented to you the powerful and the “one-stop shop” application, the Google Apps Education Edition.

During the deployment last year, the common question we had then was, Why Google Apps? The following information will provide additional clarification and hopefully answers to the common questions we got. This will help as well the new users to the NORMISIST / CSU accounts.

About Google Apps

Google Apps are more efficient tools for more effective education. Google Apps delivers the advanced technology faculty members and college students need to communicate and collaborate.

Enhanced communication
* 7+ GBs of storage means Gmail users never have to worry about a full inbox.
* Integrated calendar includes subscriptions, group calendars and resource scheduling.
* Web-based applications are available to access from any computer or Internet-enabled mobile device.

CSU Sites (Websites you can create using your CSU Account)

CSU Docs (Documents you can store and manage online)
  • Keep your documents current. It's easy to make sure everyone sees the most updated version of your file, everytime. When there are multiple people editing at once, we'll keep a record so you can see who added and deleted what, when.
  • Edit your documents and spreadsheets from anywhere. All you need is a Web browser - your documents and spreadsheets are stored securely online. To work on documents offline, or distribute them as attachments, simply save a copy to your own computer in the format that works best for you.
