< >

Corraine P. Esparagoza a BS Biology fourth year student of the College of Arts and and Sciences, Caraga State University has been given the Best Presentation Award in Korea for her paper “Antimicrobial, Characterization, Phytochemical analysis and Cytotoxic Level of Chloroform, Acetone and Hexane Leaf Extracts of Paspalumconjugatum (Sour Paspalum)."

Corraine delivered her paper in Jeju, South Korean during the Second International Conference on Pharma Sciences and Biotechnology (ICPSB 2018) last January 18-20, 2018.

According to Corraine, the conference is a great avenue for students and researchers who would like to expand their knowledge on organic and healthy living; particularly in combating different biological stresses as well as other diseases such as cancer, and even on the fight towards drug counter resistance through the use of plant derived drugs. She said that she was honored to be a part of ICPSB conference; and will cherish the wisdom that professor Jeong of Gyeong Sang National University and professor Song of Seoul National University shared. She was mentored by Ms. Rovelyn Gallego, a Biology Department faculty member under Dr. Leila C. Ombat. The College of Arts and Sciences is headed by its dean, Dr. Esamel M. Paluga. piaea
