CSU Physics Instructor Marco Laurence M. Budlayan’s water-based liquid lens invention with ADMU Professor Raphael A. Guerrero brings national recognition to CSU as the latest technology feature on ABS-CBN News.
What sets the innovation apart is the lens being “low-cost and easy-to-make.” They are also described as dynamically adjustable, which is achieved by “varying the water droplet volume, which changes the beam width without replacing any optical components.”
The invention can be very advantageous for use in classrooms, laboratories, and wearable technology because of its “simple materials with no external power or moving parts.”
The study was published in the Results in Optics journal in May this year, highlighting Golden Paddlers’ competence, ingenuity, and prowess in science and innovation. | with report from ABS-CBN News
