CSU Math. Dep’t. Responds to Paper Presentations in the 2011 MSP- Caraga Annual Convention

With 8 faculties and 1 student (BS-Math IV), Caraga State University Mathematics department participated and presented research papers in the 2011 Mathematical Society of the Philippines Convention (Caraga Chapter) at CSU-CC, Cabadbaran City on August 26-27, 2011.

In connection with the conference theme “Innovations in Mathematics Education and Research toward Academic Competitiveness”, the two-day seminar was opened by a plenary talk through the expertise in coding theory shared by Evangeline P. Bautista Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City). It was succeeded by the speakership of Ian June L. Garces Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City) on the topic entitled “Some Solved and Unsolved Mysteries in Mathematics”. Parallel sessions that were the highlights of the said convention followed.

Sessions on different research expositions continued and started the second day. These activities were simultaneously done with plenary talks on the paper entitled “Alternative ways of Mathematics Test Convention: Factorable Expression and Equations Involving Radicals” and “On Qualitative-Quantitative Analysis of Teaching Education in the Philippines: A TEDS-M Exposition” by Napoleon A. Gaquing Jr. Ph.D. (CSU Ampayon Campus) and Rosie C. Lopez-Condie (CSU Ampayon Campus) respectively.

After the discussion on the “Advantage of K-12 Program towards Educational System of Caraga Region” by Rebecca V. Dela Puz, Ph.D. CESO IV (OIC-Office of the Assistant Regional Director) and Dr. Garces, the mentioned endeavor was successfully ended by the closing remarks of Thelma C. Montero-Galliguez Ph.D. (MSP, Board of Directors member).
