In support of wetland conservation and management, two student teams from Caraga State University extended their innovative ideas and earned the grand and first runner-up prizes in the Pitch Deck Competition organized by the Protected Area Management Office of Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary (PAMO-AMWS) in Bunawan, Agusan del Norte, on February 4, 2025.
The competition aligns with the World Wetlands Day 2025 celebration with the theme: “Protecting Wetlands for our Common Future." It invited students and youth to showcase related conservation projects.
The Champions included Jasper Obendencio, Jay-R Makiling, and Richielyn May Soso with Engr. Arturo G. Cauba Jr. as coach in their pitch titled AquaMap.
Juveriel D. Tenio, Keith Charles E. Bequibel, and Rochelle Sumatra of the CSU 4-H Club proposed the Youth Guardians of the Marsh concept, which earned them the First Runners-Up.
Sixteen (16) concepts were shortlisted and assessed on originality, innovation, creativity, relevance, feasibility, and impact. CSU joined groups from Caraga School of Business, Inc., Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), and Esperanza National High School in the final round.
