Stakeholders Review the CSU Research, Innovation and Extension Agenda 2020-2025

< >

CSU is not only tasked to develop and nurture young minds to become competent and valuable contributors in nation-building; it is also mandated to provide science and technological support to industries and communities towards inclusive socioeconomic development.

In November 2019, the stakeholders of the university gathered at the New Administration Conference Hall to examine and discuss the CSU Research, Innovation and Extension Agenda 2020-2025 (CSU RIE Agenda 2020-2025).  Among the sectors represented during the Stakeholders Consultation were the CSU Alumni Association, students, faculty, the Regional Development Council, regional line agencies (RLA), research institutions, civil society organizations (CSO), and the local government units (LGUs). Some members of the University Executive Committee also attended the forum.

Dr Rowena P. Varela, the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension, welcomed the stakeholders in behalf of the President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, and presented the proposed revised RIE Agenda of the university.

Dr. Varela cited the alignment of the proposed agenda to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Ambisyon 2040 and the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022, as well as the Regional Development Plan of Caraga Region.  The various representatives gave their opinions and discuss how the CSU Agenda relate to their own programs and initiatives. The stakeholders review forum ended positively with the hope that everything will come out of its purpose for the common good. OVPRIE/pico
