Aiming to reduce carbon emissions while improving mobility options on the campus, the Caraga State University’s Pollution Control Office launched its Sustainable Mobility Program on August 19, providing ten (10) bikes as sustainable transportation options at the outset.

The University taps iKilos Bayugan as its implementing partner for the said Program with the support of the Korean Safety and Environment Foundation. CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, Pollution Control Officer Vincent N. Cotoron, and iKilos Bayugan Executive Director Sheen Milger A. Ochavo signed the Memorandum of Agreement on the same day.

Aside from the bikes under the PadyaKalikasan Project, the Program plans to introduce electric vehicles, partner with public transportation, develop a more pedestrian-friendly campus, and campaign for awareness and education.

With the said initiatives, the University hopes to reduce its carbon footprint, improve air quality, reduce noise levels, enhance safety and accessibility, and raise engagement in sustainability issues in the academic community.
