Overview

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, Innovation, and Extension (OVPRDIE) leads and recommends policies, programs, strategies, and budgets related to research, innovation, extension, technology transfer, and business incubation at the university. It ensures that these efforts align with the university’s vision and mission, promoting a culture of research excellence and community engagement.

OVPRDIE develops and implements strategic plans to improve research productivity, innovation, and technology commercialization. It evaluates the effectiveness and impact of R&D and extension initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.

The office also fosters partnerships with other academic institutions, government, private sectors, and international organizations to strengthen research capacity and address both regional and global issues. Furthermore, it supports entrepreneurial activities by assisting in startup creation, patenting, and licensing, helping turn innovative ideas into marketable solutions.
