In its active preparation for ASEAN University Network–Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) accreditation—a distinction that confirms its academic programs, research activities, and governance meet regional benchmarks of excellence—Caraga State University (CSU) powered through the Part 3 of its re-echo seminar on September 12, 2025, with a hands-on Self-Assessment Report (SAR) writeshop designed to sharpen accreditation readiness across key programs.
Held at the Administrative Conference Hall, faculty and staff from Butuan and Cabadbaran campuses, with an initial batch of programs from the Colleges of Education, Computing and Information Sciences, and Engineering and Geosciences, participated in the activity.
VP for Executive Operations Dr. Michelle Japitana opened the activity with a message of support, applauding the participants’ presence as a collective effort to elevate CSU’s standards and strengthen its global competitiveness.
Ms. Joy Mariz Otero, facilitator of the workshop, set the pace for a hands-on SAR writing sprint, guiding participants through Criteria 1 to 7. They were divided into focused groups to analyze evidence, craft concise narratives, and align data with AUN-QA benchmarks. Each group presented and refined its drafts in a collaborative review, exchanging insights and sharpening every section together.
Meanwhile, the administrative staff, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Executive Operations, HRMS, and the Planning Office, ensured that institutional processes and resources were fully documented and accreditation-ready, supporting progress across all seven criteria.
The workshop reflected CSU’s dedication to securing the AUN-QA certification, which will solidify the university’s position as a competitive university, strengthening its quality education (SDG No. 4 – Quality Education), opening doors to stronger international partnerships, increased academic mobility, and a reputation for world-class education and research beyond ASEAN.
