Caraga State University (CSU) adds another belt to its achievements following the recently released Board Action results from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP, Inc.) for the program assessments conducted on July 23 to 25, 2025. Four undergraduate programs and one graduate program have achieved Level IV status, bringing CSU’s total to 16 programs under this highest level of academic accreditation.

The newly accredited programs are BS in Applied Mathematics, BS in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, BS in Electronics Engineering, BS in Information Systems, and MS in Mathematics. These programs excelled across all areas of evaluation, earning an average grand mean of 4.60 that demonstrated their competence in research, graduate outcomes, community engagement, international linkages and consortia, and strategic planning processes. Notably, this achievement also marks the first time a graduate program is accoladed with the distinction. The validity of the status for all five programs is from August 01, 2025 to July 31, 2030.

Two programs have also been re-accredited from the assessment results. The BS in Forestry maintained its Level III status, while the BS Agroforestry is on Level II.

As mentioned, the university now has 16 programs with Level IV accreditation status, a strong indication of enhanced education standard parallel to that of foreign universities (CHED Memo Order No. 1 s. 2005, Art. IV, Sec. i.e). Earlier, in September 2025, two other programs, the Bachelor of Elementary Education and the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, were also conferred Level IV status.

Pushing Academic Excellence Forward

This new accolade further fuels CSU’s commitment to advancing the quality and relevance of its academic programs. This year, the university has formally adopted the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework to cultivate a stakeholder-responsive, outcome-driven, and continuously improving educational system for its Golden Paddlers.

Through the alignment of learning outcomes with institutional goals and the systematic assessment of performance, CSU ensures that its education remains quality-assured, globally competitive, and future-ready, empowering graduates to become leaders who uphold integrity, embrace innovation and sustainability, lead with compassion, and champion transformative change for inclusive and ethical societal development.
