PASIDUNGOG reveals new LIKHA awardees, champion

The second edition of the LIKHA awards has been conferred upon select colleges, units, and departments that have advanced the university’s vision and mission in its drive to progress towards the university’s agenda and Hiraya 2028, CSU’s strategic plan. The awarding is one of the main segments during PASIDUNGOG 2025: CSU’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE).
Five awardees, representing each of the letter’s goals and targets in the agenda, were allocated Php 50,000.00 from the Office of the President to be utilized for capacity-building activities and workshops. The LIKHA Champion, which has significantly contributed to all of the targets, received Php 150,000.00. Below are the following awardees:
Launchpad of Global Talents Awardee: Department of Geodetic Engineering

This unit stood out for its steadfast commitment to talent development and mentoring, preparing globally competitive professionals who have gained recognition both nationally and internationally.
Their initiatives exemplify strong global and national exposure through active participation in competitions, impactful research collaborations, reputable publications, and professional certifications that consistently raise the CSU banner high. In 2024, their College achieved a record-breaking 103 journal publications, the highest among all units. Remarkably, through their strengthened international mobility program, this department contributed 59 Scopus-indexed publications, accounting for 57% of the College’s total output.
Interdependence and High-Impact Coalitions awardee: College of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

The college that has cultivated strategic, ethical, and high-impact partnerships, linking with research institutes, industries, and LGUs for science-based solutions. It has strengthened joint outcomes through collaborative research projects and co-authored publications that translate knowledge into action. Their partnerships are founded on mutual benefit and governance, ensuring shared learning, accountability, and mutual respect. Through their long-term engagements, CMNS has proven continuity and scaling, sustaining partnerships that grow stronger over time.
Knowledge Co-Creation and Commercialization awardee: Center for Energy and Power Research & Innovation Center (CEPRIC)

The research center at Cabadbaran Campus exemplified the transformation of ideas into innovation. Through strong RDI outputs, this unit has pioneered studies and tools that inform evidence-based planning and policy. Their programs foster stakeholder co-creation, involving government, industry, and local communities in the research process. The center championed entrepreneurship and commercialization by transforming knowledge into viable technologies and consultancies that create public value. Further, their work advanced societal and SDG impact by contributing to sustainable urban planning, resource management, and regional development.
Hub for Academic Excellence, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship awardee: Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering

The department has consistently delivered academic outcomes that reflect global standards of excellence in engineering education. It sustained program excellence through strong accreditation ratings, board examination performance, and faculty credentials. They led in teaching-learning innovation, integrating digital tools, research-based learning, and entrepreneurial projects into their curriculum. Lastly, the department nurtured a student-centered and ethical culture by producing engineers who are not only competent but also compassionate and responsible.
Accelerated Administrative Systems and Digital Transformation awardee: Human Resource Management Services

The Human Resource Management Services have demonstrated efficiency, integrity, and innovation in fulfilling their role. They have enhanced HR processes through improved systems and streamlined workflows, thereby strengthening the organization’s management of its people. Their commitment to integrity and compliance ensures fairness and transparency in all operations. Their focus on accessibility and user satisfaction helps ensure that every employee feels supported, valued, and empowered.
LIKHA Champion: College of Engineering and Geosciences

The college demonstrated excellence across all five pillars of the LIKHA Agenda — leadership in talent development, collaborative partnerships, knowledge innovation, academic excellence, and administrative transformation. CEGS has demonstrated unparalleled performance by leading in research productivity, industry linkages, and academic innovation, all while fostering a collaborative ecosystem among its departments. It is a college that truly embodies the CSU vision.
