The Caraga State University is now ranked 24th among Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the January 2026 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, solidifying its position as the leading university in the region and one of the top HEIs in the Philippines.
Globally, the university now ranks 2,986th out of more than 30,000 higher education institutions (HEIs) worldwide, reflecting marked progress in the following metrics: Impact Rank of 14,076, Openness Rank of 5,145, and Excellence Rank of 6,036.
The Webometrics Ranking is an independent university ranking platform that uses multidimensional approaches to assess an institution’s digital footprint, research visibility, and commitment to open knowledge. Of its three indicators, the Impact Rank, which measures visibility, accounts for 50% of the overall rank, with Excellence Rank (top publications) at 40% and Openness (top-cited researchers) at 10%. Rankings are updated semi-annually in January and July.
Per their website, the platform is not affiliated with the former Webometrics[.]info website, which the university also earned a different rank in the past years.
This trajectory shows that CSU has consistently demonstrated enhanced digital presence, research output, and global visibility, ranking as the third-leading HEI in Mindanao, alongside Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology and Marawi, ranked 8th and 10th, respectively.
As the first ranking released this year, CSU vouches to further elevate its online visibility, research productivity, and academic quality. Recognition such as this serves as a reflection of CSU’s core and ongoing mission to deliver tangible quality in education and impact for our Golden Paddlers and stakeholders.
