Caraga State University faculty, Dr. Joycelyn C. Jumawan of the Department of Biology, College of Arts and Sciences together with her advisee Miss Jucil Coleen D. Apduhan won the Best Scientific Poster award during the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting and Scientific Poster Session of the National Academy of Science and Technology 2019, held at EDSA Shangrila Hotel on July 11, 2019.
The poster entitled “Phytochemical Analysis and Toxicological Screening of Crude Extracts from the roots of Derris elliptica Benth. (Tubli) Used as a Piscicide to Oreochromis niloticus” bested other entries for the biological sciences category. Dr. Jumawan and Miss Apduhan received a certificate of recognition and a cash prize.
