The university’s Office of Internationalization and Global Engagements (OIGE) spearheaded the welcome and hosting of distinguished members of the Philippine-EAGA Higher Education Institution Consortium (PEHEIC) on December 5, 2025.

The meeting provided a comprehensive platform for assessing the consortium’s initiatives and accomplishments in the current year, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the internationalization of higher education across institutions. It also consolidated their progress, concerns encountered during implementation, and strategies to support the consortium’s shared mission.

Another part of the meeting focused on internationalization efforts, including managing international partnerships, mobility programs, research collaborations, and cultural exchanges.

University President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, commended the consortium for becoming one of the leading academic linkages that unite Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from South East Asia and the Philippines, specifically Mindanao. Caraga State University is one of the founding members of PEHEIC, along with eight (8) other HEIs in the country. The BIMP-EAGA (Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area) is a sub-regional economic cooperation initiative aimed at enhancing development and connectivity in the less developed areas of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

The consortium had its first convention in August of this year.
