A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by CSU and De La Salle University (DLSU) on October 22, 2025, for a collaboration on research and technological innovations in biomedical engineering and health. This ceremonial agreement formed part of the Teknolunas 2025: Philippine Biomedical Engineering Conference and Exhibits at DLSU, Manila, on October 22-24, 2025.

As part of its commitment to advancing health studies, CSU will be collaborating in interdisciplinary research initiatives on clinical and medical sciences with DLSU. In return, CSU will also contribute to DLSU’s ongoing project under the Evelyn D. Ang – Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies (EDA-IBEHT). The aforementioned project aims to foster joint research efforts and capacity-building programs focused on biomedical engineering and health innovations.

Detailed in the MOA signed are privileges by the university to acquire technical consultations, academic linkages, the organization of a research congress, and workforce development from DLSU and EDA-IBEHT.

This collaboration is a strategic and significant juncture, as the university recently launched the Center for Health Innovations in Medicine and Bioengineering (CHIME) alongside the region’s first medical school and the Doctor of Medicine Program last July. CHIME introduced its research agenda,  Transforming Health Research and Innovations for a Vibrant and Equitable Caraga (THRIVE), which shall focus on implementing community-engaged health research, biomedical innovation, equity-focused public health, and sustainability and resilient health systems. Learn more about CHIME and its research agenda here: https://som.carsu.edu.ph/chime/about/

The partnership is poised to further the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals Numbers 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
