CSU Students Attend Training in Thailand

Three Caraga State University students, Jake Warren C. Bago taking Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Vince Bernard G. Planas, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student, and Haydee Jean B. Laguesma, enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry attended Summer @Silpakorn 2019 at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, last July 9-17, 2019.

These students were chosen on the basis of their academic standing and leadership. The CSU University Student Council (USC) spent for their fare while Silpakorn University, Bangkok Thailand sponsored their accomodation and participation to the summer training.

The 9-day program covered three topics including solar drying technology, natural dyes and its application, and plant tissue culture. The students experienced and explored scientific innovations in the topics mentions above.

The students were exposed to lectures, hands-on exercises, and a field trip to on-site projects. Sightseeing and exposure to Thai culture was also experienced by the students. The students learned many new things from the training and Thai culture and said that the activity was a great opportunity for intellectual advancement and international networking. CMG/pico
