Select executives and personnel from the University’s Knowledge Management Committee formed the first batch of the Development Academy of the Philippines’ (DAP) training workshop on Knowledge Management (KM) at Casa Luciana Hotel & Recreation Center from December 9-11, 2025. The activity is poised to contribute significant inputs for an institutionalized knowledge management system that will enable the university to systematically generate, replicate, and audit processes and practices vital to CSU’s advancement.

Ms. Marietta Quevedo-Umbay, DAP’s Acting Chief for Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), facilitated the 12-session training designed to deepen understanding of KM concepts, tools, implementation pathways, and measurable outcomes. During the workshop, proposed KM Frameworks for the university were reviewed to refine components and identify essential strategies for effective rollout.

Institutionalizing KM is essential for CSU as it expands its programs, campuses, research, and operations. A formal KM framework ensures that critical knowledge is captured, shared, and sustained across personnel. It preserves organizational memory, supports evidence-based decisions, improves efficiency, reduces duplication of work, and strengthens innovation through shared insights. Through KM, CSU positions itself to operate as a responsive and future-proof organization, capable of sustaining its gains.

CSU’s aim of institutionalizing KM is strategic and timely as the expansion of its programs and activities necessitates a centralized database for evidence-based decisions, efficiency, innovation, and production. Successive training batches will follow next year, comprising the executives from the Cabadbaran City campus.
