CSU’s TTLO received a new Patent Notification for the Sago Extracting Machine invention

The Caraga State University’s Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO) once again received a notification from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) on the registration of a patent application, A DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING OUT THE STARCH FROM STARCH PRODUCING CROP or the Sago Extracting Machine.

This device is an agricultural machine that can extract starch from starch-producing crops, particularly a sago (Metroxylon sagu Rottb). The present invention is designed to aid the extraction of sago starch with high starch recovery and capacity. This application was granted registration status two (2) years after its filing.

Congratulations to the College of Engineering and Geosciences- Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CEGS-DABE) inventors, Cywin D. Abacahin, Doni Koshi Estacion, and Engr. Jobelle J. Capilitan. Commendation is also extended to the Patent Agents, Engr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa and Engr. Jack Ortega Bertulfo.

This is the third (3rd) patent grant for CSU and the second (2nd) for the Center for Resource Assessment Analytics and Emerging Technologies (CREATE), after its 1st Patent Grant, A Device for Extracting Out the Meat of a Fruit or Vegetable.
