ECE student-researchers lock 2nd runner-up, top 5 places in Xinyx Unlocked Competition

Muntinlupa City, December 12 – Two teams of BS Electronics Engineering (ECE) students secured the 2nd runner-up and top 5 positions in the latest Xinyx Competition. This year’s national technology pitching event focused on ‘From Problems to Possibilities: Building Tomorrow’s Cities Today.’

The research titled ‘Design and Development of a Monitoring System for Floating Solar Platforms’ by Ricky Pie Resonable, Harvey Abiagador, and Jocelyn Llorente secured the second runner-up position. This announcement followed the revelation of the Top 5 finalists, where the research titled ‘Design and Development of Pico Hydro and Monitoring System for the Generation of Electricity’ by Lydelle P. Arcite, James Michael Yula, Jesryniel Plaza, and Jocelyn Llorente was included.

‘The two CSU teams from the final five were selected from an initial pool of ten teams, out of 58 engineering entries across the country,’ expressed the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Jeffrey Dellosa in his Facebook post. He, along with Engr. Ronieto Mendoza and Engr. Re-Ann Cristine O. Calimpusan accompanied the student-researchers in Muntinlupa as coaches.

Xinyx Unlocked is a platform for students to demonstrate their resourcefulness, creativity, and adept application of technical skills in their academic domains. This competition encourages participants to craft innovative solutions with the potential to make a meaningful and positive impact on their local communities. Among Xinyx’s many activities, the Unlocked Competition was the most awaited segment, where ten predetermined student teams pitched and defended their innovative ideas and projects.
