Select students from the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries (CAA) and the College of Forestry and Environmental Science (CoFES) convened at the HERO Learning Commons Auditorium on November 6, 2025 for a talk session on becoming leaders of environmental stewardship, fitting to the pressing need for such amid the ongoing natural calamities affecting the region and the Philippines.
Dr. Julie S. Berame, the Director of the Office of Student Welfare and Engagement (OSWE), led the discussions, together with Forester Luper and For. Catherine Mae B. Jandug. After the discussion, Golden Paddlers engaged in an open forum to know more about identifying and analyzing environmental challenges in agricultural and forestry practices and developing practical skills to implement and replicate sustainable solutions.
This activity is part of the ongoing sessions conducted by OSWE to further Sustainable Development Goals Nos. 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 13 (Climate Action), in coordination with the League of Campus Organizations (LCO) and the University Student Government (USG), under the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Auxiliary Services (OVPSAS).
