Policies, services introduced to 3,463 Golden Paddlers

BUTUAN CITY, August 20 – Caraga State University (CSU) officially welcomed 3,463 new undergraduate students during its Student General Orientation at the Gymnasium and Cultural Center on Wednesday.

Organized by the Office of Student Welfare and Engagement (OSWE), the orientation introduced freshmen, transferees, and returning students to CSU’s services, policies, and academic support systems for the Academic Year 2025–2026.

Dr. Rissa L. Mercado, Vice President for Student Affairs and Auxiliary Services, affirmed how the event will hone Golden Paddlers to become “active participants in shaping the culture and community of the university”. University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil also echoed the sentiment, sharing CSU’s commitment to nurturing an academic environment anchored on Competence, Service, and Uprightness.

The program featured presentations on the student manual, campus security, the Learning Management System (LMS), and gender development initiatives. The Philippine National Police also gave a special session on crime prevention, drug awareness, and anti-drug advocacy.

This year, 3,463 undergraduate students were admitted out of 18,821 applicants following the results of the admission test and program assessments. Among the colleges, the College of Education welcomed the largest number with 610 students.
