Caraga State University (CSU) continues to solidify its reputation in the field of robotics as its student innovators delivered exceptional performances at the RoboTech Cup during the 2025 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW). Held on November 21, 2025, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, the event brought together some of the nation’s most promising young robotics enthusiasts.

Two CSU teams, AirLab and RoBEC, earned distinguished recognition for their innovative creations. The AirLab team, composed of Mr. Karl Shane Pakilit and Mr. Karl Borromeo, received the Industrial Design Excellence Award for their creative approach and well-executed prototype. Meanwhile, the RoBEC team, comprising Mr. Ralph Vincent Tajantajan and Mr. Geen Malagueña from the BS in Computer Science program, was awarded the Sophisticated Design Excellence Award, which highlighted their advanced design elements and technical ingenuity. Both teams are accompanied by Engr. Rudolph Joshua Candare, their mentor and a CCIS faculty member.

The RoboTech Cup aims to nurture the creativity and technical capabilities of young Filipino developers. With categories focused on Search and Rescue, Bin Collection, and Trash Sorting systems, the competition encourages participants to design robotics solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute to societal advancement.

This achievement underscores CSU’s strong commitment to fostering innovation and shaping a more technologically progressive nation. It reflects the university’s unwavering support for student development, empowering learners to refine their skills, pursue groundbreaking ideas, and uphold the region’s growing reputation for excellence in science and technology.
