The Caraga State University (CSU) signed two significant documents on May 13, 2024: a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with both DA Caraga and the CSU-Butuan PGS Organic Farmers Association.

The agreement between CSU and DA Caraga involves the provision of a Rice Combine Harvester and a Four-Wheel Drive Tractor to CSU. These modern pieces of equipment are expected to significantly enhance the university’s agricultural operations and training capabilities. They will provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and aid local farmers in adopting advanced farming techniques.

This signing ceremony signifies a collaborative effort in managing the CSU Eco/Organic Farms and represents a pivotal step towards enhanced agricultural education and sustainable farming in the region. The partnership promises mutual benefits for the university, the local farming community, and the broader agricultural sector.

President Rolyn C. Daguil, DA Caraga Regional Executive Director Arlan M. Mangelen, and CSU-Butuan PGS Organic Farmers Association President Charles D. Ong signed the documents. Witnesses to the signing included Dr. Alexander C. Demetillo, Prof. Joel Arles Vergara, Eng. Neil Caesar Tado, Dr. Danilo Gaas, and Prof. Elizabeth Parac. │ via zmaarban/PICO
