CSU arnis athletes bring medals from 2023 Philippine National Games

Caraga State University arnisadors recently showcased their talents and skills during the 2023 Batang Pinoy and Philippine National Games at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque from December 17-22, 2023. The competition, organized by the Philippine Sports Commission, brought together athletes to compete in table tennis, pencak silat, and arnis.

Among the standout performers from Butuan City during the championship of the Arnis competition were CSU students Edjohn Lee C. Quilaman, Vincent John Burato, Gerimie L. Caringal, and Brooke Gabrielle M. Bautista. Behind the success of these talented athletes stand the dedicated coaches Allen C. Catipan and Brian E. Ellodar.

The achievements at the national game highlight not only the individual triumphs of the athletes but also the collective strength of Butuan’s arnis community. The Arnis Competition and City Sports Office of Butuan supported and sponsored the athletes, reflecting a commitment to fostering sports excellence and providing a platform for local talent of future generations of martial artists to shine.
