The university excels in electricity and fuel management, too!

Following the Department of Energy’s (DOE) initial energy audit yesterday, November 15, 2023, the university received a distinguished 5-star rating, accompanied by an impressive score of 92.0% (Grade A). This accomplishment highlights CSU’s unwavering commitment to energy efficiency and its exemplary compliance with Republic Act No. 11285, also known as the ‘Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act.’

The spot-check results revealed excellent ratings for best practices in three areas: office policies, electricity consumption, and fuel consumption. Some of these best practices include the designation of an Enercon Officer, issuances on energy conservation to all offices, application of cost-cutting and efficient measures for usage of equipment, implementation of the Fuel Conservation Program, and prudence in electricity and fuel reports.

This recognition underscores that the university not only meets but exceeds the standards set forth in RA No. 11285, showcasing a proactive approach to responsible energy management. This award also testifies how the University was able to operate efficiently amid the rise and development of new buildings and facilities.

For a government institution like CSU, energy conservation holds paramount importance. Not only does it align with national policies and regulations, but it also establishes a precedent for responsible resource management. │ ovpaf/pico
