The university has achieved yet another significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence! Guided by CHED Commissioner Jo Mark M. Libre, CSU received substantial funding of 10 million pesos from the Commission on Higher Education – Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (CHED-IDIG) Program. This achievement is credited to the joint efforts of CSU President Dr. Rolyn Daguil, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Alexander Demetillo, and other university officials.
The granted funding will be utilized to bolster CSU’s Engineering Laboratories, with a specific focus on enhancing microelectronics, renewable energy, robotics and automation, and mining engineering and technology. One of the project’s key objectives is to reduce the university’s electricity costs by installing a solar power system while providing necessary laboratory equipment for renewable energy and allied courses.
Half of the 50 computers in this funding will address the university’s counterpart for the Center for Integrated Circuit and Device Research (CIDR) project, a collaborative research by the institution, the University of the Philippines (UP), Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), and other top universities across the country. Other computers will be installed with simulation software for mining engineering utilization.
