
BlackGold Co. won 3rd place in the national level of the 2024 Young Farmers Challenge Intercollegiate Category, organized by the Department of Agriculture, with the awarding held in Baguio City on July 17.
BlackGold Co. developed the BlackGold Nutribar, marketed as a healthy, convenient snack made from black rice.
The team is composed of Golden Paddlers Kieth Charles Bequibel, Mauro Goyo, Juveriel Tenio, Emmanuel Ipanag, Juniel Rey Gigaquit, and Rochelle Sumatra from the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries (CAA). They are incubatees of CSU TARA Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator, which supports agri and aquaculture start-ups.
BlackGold Co. received a Php 500,000.00 cash prize intended to further the development and production of their nutribar.
This innovation supports CSU’s goal to improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture in the region, relevant to Sustainable Development Goal No. 2 (Zero Hunger)
