Angelica Cervas Divina, an incoming senior of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, was granted the 2025 New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program, a short-term study opportunity in Taiwan for students to enhance academic and cultural exchange.

The program, which will run from September this year until January 2026, is initiated by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will be hosted by five Taiwanese universities. The subject areas where students can focus on include public health, technology and innovation, international relations, sustainable agriculture, and climate change governance.

Through the program, Divina is expected to gain deeper knowledge and cultural immersion in Taiwan, especially with mandatory Mandarin lessons. The competitive scholarship also covers travel and accommodation expenses, tuition waivers, and allowances.

This grant exemplifies CSU’s competitiveness and global readiness, with more and more students and faculty members qualifying for international studies and opportunities. This solidifies the quality of education and training in the university, relevant to Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 (Quality Education).
