The Caraga State University School of Medicine launches today, July 25, as part of the Medicine Week. Among the preliminary activities in the morning were the launching of SoM research agenda, open house, and ecumenical prayer.

CSU envisions producing responsible stewards of problem-solvers and value creators. SoM contributes to this by conducting research and transforming it into action through its research agenda: THRIVE or Transforming Health, Transforming Lives through Pioneering Research, and Discovery, Innovation, Value, and Equity for Caraga.

The Sustainable Development Goal-driven agenda aligns with CarSU’s new brand of education that is human-centered and deeply rooted in the needs and aspirations of the community.

Participants also joined an open house at SoM’s technology-mediated learning classrooms, such as the SECTRA for Gross Anatomy, Histology, and Physiology classes and laboratory exercises, and the SMART classroom for synchronous instruction with experts and renowned medical educators.

The university also hosted an ecumenical prayer at the HERO Learning Commons dedicated to officials, faculty, and stakeholders instrumental in the establishment of the medical school.

The historic launching of Caraga’s first and only medical school will happen at 2 PM. The event will also be streamed live on the official Facebook page of the university.
