In line with Caraga State University’s partnership with Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) in Indonesia, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS) welcomed Professor Jati Ariati, PhD, for a series of collaborative activities on September 9-10, 2025.

Professor Ariati is the Vice Dean for Student and Academic Affairs at Undip. Her visit marks the beginning of a partnership in education, research, and community service, and strengthens CSU’s international ties.

On September 9, Professor Ariati paid a courtesy visit to University President Rolyn C. Daguil, PhD, accompanied by faculty members from the Department of Psychology, CHaSS Dean Ruth E. Sanchez, and Director of Internationalization and Global Engagement Glenn Garcia, PhD. She also visited various research centers and extension offices and shared insights to enhance community and extension initiatives.

Professor Ariati presented her research and strategies for using technology to enhance student engagement in a forum participated in by the faculty and students of the Department of Psychology on September 10. She also shared the current graduate programs at Undip and outlined possible student exchange opportunities and research collaborations.

The developing partnership with Undip affirms CSU’s drive for internationalization through academic and research endeavors relevant to SDGs No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). | with reports from Loressa Joy D. Paguta, MA-CHaSS
