Select Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officers from both campuses of the university convened on October 8-9, 2025 to institutionalize and strengthen the results-based monitoring and evaluation system for all university-recognized Projects, Activities, and Programs (PAPs).

‘MEAL was served’ to the participants with six sessions on the principles and legal mandates of results-based M&E, practical skills in designing and utilizing M&E plans and tools, and techniques in performance measurement, reporting, and evaluation. MEAL, which stands for Monitoring and Evaluation Accountability Learning, encapsulated the overarching goal of the two-day workshop, which was to strengthen institutional compliance with government-approved and data-driven assessment standards for all PAPs.

Invited speakers included Mr. Jesse T. David, Chief Economic Development Specialist of DEPDev Central Office; Mr. Michael Leo Cane Torralba, Executive Assistant IV of Agusan del Sur Provincial Government; Arch. Magichael Cloribel, Director of the Engineering and Construction Office of the university; Engr. Ivy D. Saluta, Engineer II of the Contract Management Section of DPWH- Regional Office XIII; and Engr. Richard B. Tambis, Engineer II and Chief of the Performance Evaluation Section of DPWH- Regional Office XIII.

This capacity development initiative, spearheaded by the Project Monitoring Office (PMO), is poised to produce improved and evidence-based reports. It comes at a pivotal time as the university continues to expand its infrastructure, research, and extension initiatives under the LIKHA Agenda, the current administrative strategic plan.
