Caraga State University-Main Campus (CSU) secures the Silver Award in the prestigious Mobility Awards 2025, held at the B Hotel, Quezon City. This award, conferred during the National Bicycle Month, recognizes the university’s steadfast commitment to advancing sustainable mobility, promoting active transport, and implementing climate-resilient initiatives by paving the way for safer, greener, and healthier learning environments.
Mr. Vincent N. Cotoron, Head of the Office of Campus Safety and Security (OCSS) – Pollution Control Unit, received the award on behalf of the unit. The OCSS–Pollution Control Unit plays a crucial role in developing and implementing environmental policies, promoting mobility awareness campaigns, and implementing climate-responsive programs. Through active collaboration, the unit strengthens the university’s commitment to SDG-aligned practices, particularly in reducing carbon emissions, enhancing air quality, and fostering a sustainability-driven campus culture.

The Padyakalikasan Program is designed to cultivate a strong culture of walking, cycling, and low-carbon mobility in the university by empowering students, faculty, and staff to make responsible commuting choices through designated bike lanes, secure bike racks, cycling safety guidelines, sustainability signage, and regular orientations on active mobility.
The Mobility Awards, on the other hand, is organized by national transport and climate advocacy networks and honors trailblazing institutions, local governments, and organizations leading in active transportation innovation. CSU’s achievement reaffirms its growing influence and leadership in mainstreaming SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) within the academic sector.
University leaders, program advocates, and partner stakeholders expressed their gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly to advance sustainable mobility across the campus. This recognition serves as a reminder that meaningful change is possible through collective action, environmental stewardship, and shared responsibility. Kudos to CSU leadership, OCSS–Pollution Control Unit, mobility advocates, partners, and champions of change who continue to innovate, inspire, and transform transportation habits into a way of life.
