Caraga State University and the BioRisk Association of the Philippines 2015, Inc. (BRAP2015) formally established a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on November 27, 2025.

The agreement aims to strengthen, promote, and expand collaboration in education, teaching, training, extension, research, and development, specifically in the critical areas of biosafety, biosecurity, and biological risk management. This cooperation will support professional sectors in medicine, agriculture, technology, and the biological sciences.

Although the MOA had already been notarized prior to the event, CSU officials and BRAP2015 representatives gathered for a ceremonial signing to formally highlight the partnership and its significance. Representing the university were the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Vicente A. Pitogo, and faculty members from the Department of Biology, who witnessed the symbolic signing alongside BRAP2015 officers led by Mr. Ronaldo E. Puno, BRAP National President. The ceremony reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to advance biosafety, biosecurity, and responsible biological risk management practices across academic and professional sectors.

As outlined, BRAP2015 committed to providing specialized training programs, technical expertise, and collaborative initiatives to elevate biosafety awareness and risk management practices across CSU’s academic and research communities.

The CSU–BRAP2015 partnership marks an important step toward advancing national efforts in biosafety and biosecurity, reinforcing CSU’s position as a leading institution in promoting responsible biological research and laboratory practices in Mindanao and beyond.
