The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DepDev) has formally approved a PHP 7 million innovation grant for a pioneering project led by Ms. Jenelyn R. Asis, Head of the Caraga State University (CSU) TBI Incubation Project and TARA ATBI Project Leader. In a letter dated November 17, 2025, DepDev Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edillon, PhD, confirmed the grant for the proposal titled “Development of an AI-Driven i-Tour IMS: A Smart Integrated Tourism Information Management System for Enhancing Tourism Governance and Service Delivery in the Caraga Region.”
The project, which aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence (Al) into the regional tourism framework, successfully passed a competitive evaluation process, meeting the objectives of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document. Further proceedings for the grant-awarding phase will be coordinated between DepDev and CSU’s project team.
