Champion coaches, execs receive Magkuno Awards

TODAY, February 4 — Winning coaches and executives from both campuses of Caraga State University attended this year’s Magkuno Awards at Milestone Venue, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, to receive recognition for outstanding performances in the literary, sports, and cultural events within Mindanao and the Philippines.  

The awards were conferred by the Caraga Association of State Universities and Colleges (CASUC), Inc., for championship titles in the various events of the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Friendship Games and the State Colleges and Universities Association (SCUAA) Games from 2021 to 2025. In addition to the  27 awardees, University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil received the Magkuno Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Higher Education. Vice Presidents Dr. Michelle V. Japitana and Dr. Rissa L. Mercado were likewise recognized for their advocacy and service.

Another milestone was achieved by Dr. Adam Roy V. Galolo, who received the Outstanding Cultural Director Award for leading CSU’s delegation that clinched last year’s championship in the MASTS Cultural and Literary Events and in 2022. Dr. Galolo serves as the longstanding Director of the University Center for Culture and the Arts.

Other SUCs in attendance were the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU), Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU), and the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT).
