True to its aim in strengthening academic linkages and enhancing student exposure, the university’s Marine Biology Department brought two Taiwanese marine scientists from the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) to the university to share expertise on fish diversity on February 26.

Dr. Wen-Chien Huang, an expert on fish diversity, and Dr. Wen-Chun Ma, a specialist in deep-sea fish diversity, shared the current research trends, species diversity, and marine conservation initiatives at regional and international scales with the first batch of BSMB Golden Paddlers. A Collaborative Research Agreement (CRA) was also inaugurated to further strengthen academic ties with NSYSU for the field of marine biology.

The entire activity was dedicated to exposing its first batch of students to internationally informed instruction and to gaining valuable scientific insights vital for future studies in the field.
