Caraga State University (CSU), through its Project Management Office (PMO), successfully conducted the Constructors’ Performance Evaluation System (CPES) Accreditation Training from March 3–5, 2026, at the CSU New Administration Building Conference Hall. The three-day capacity-building activity was organized in coordination with the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines – Philippine Domestic Construction Board (CIAP–PDCB).

The training equipped CSU personnel with the technical knowledge and competencies required to become Constructors’ Performance Evaluators (CPEs). Through a series of lectures, workshops, examinations, and an on-site practicum. The activity featured expert speakers, Engr. Leilani D. L. Del Prado, Director of the Association of Accredited CPES Evaluators of the Philippines (AACEP), and Engr. Hubert P. Mitmit, A Division Manager at the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA). The guest speakers guided participants through the CPES framework, legal mandates, evaluation criteria, and the practical application of the system in infrastructure project evaluation.

The conduct of the training marks a significant milestone for the University, as CSU becomes the first State University and College (SUC) in the Caraga Region and the second SUC in Mindanao to host a CPES Accreditation Training. Of the participants who completed the program requirements, 26 personnel successfully passed the accreditation examination and shall become the University’s Constructors’ Performance Evaluators.

Through this initiative, CSU takes a significant step toward institutionalizing CPES within the University. This will help the University identify and address gaps in infrastructure project implementation while reinforcing CSU’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and quality assurance in the delivery of infrastructure projects.

The successful conduct of the CPES Accreditation Training marks an important milestone in strengthening the University’s capacity to monitor and evaluate construction projects, ensuring that public investments are implemented efficiently, in compliance, and with integrity.
