The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. successfully convened its 39th National Conference and General Assembly from March 24-26, 2026, at the Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila.
The three-day event brought together educational leaders, policymakers, and Quality Assurance (QA) practitioners from across the country. This year’s assembly focused on a critical mission: integrating innovative research, technology, and robust QA frameworks to drive transformative education in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
One of the highlights of the assembly is the presentation on the proposed new instruments for program accreditation by the Board of Trustees (BOT). These updated tools are designed to be more agile and responsive to the digital shift in education, ensuring that accreditation remains a catalyst for genuine institutional growth rather than a mere compliance exercise.
The gathering of educational leaders reunited former CSU President and currently Bohol Island State University (BISU) President and BOT President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, with former colleagues, including CSU’s current University President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, and the rest of the CSU delegation. Also present in the assembly is the AACCUP Director, Milabel E. Ho. The event also celebrated institutional milestones by awarding the Top-Performing SUCs, during which Caraga State University was recognized as the Top 1 SUC with numerous Level 4-accredited programs in 2025.
