Caraga State University – Graduate Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (OVPRIE–RDIE PMO) and the AGAK Center, conducted a Writeshop on Systematic Review and Crafting of Publishable Journal Articles on March 21 and 28, 2026, at the HERO Learning Commons, Activity Center.

The activity was attended by college faculty researchers, graduate school faculty, program coordinators, and students. It aimed to enhance participants’ competencies in producing high-quality, publishable systematic review articles by integrating future-thinking approaches into academic writing.
The writeshop featured expert sessions and hands-on workshops led by Dr. Marco Laurence M. Budlayan and Dr. Junrie B. Matias, who guided participants in identifying research gaps, systematically synthesizing literature, structuring scholarly articles, and applying appropriate research methodologies. In addition, the sessions provided practical guidance on writing publishable systematic review articles for reputable journals, including Scopus-indexed publications. Participants also engaged in mentoring sessions, collaborative activities, and peer review processes to strengthen their academic writing, communication, and research skills.
The activity was conducted through a combination of lectures, interactive workshops, group work, and peer evaluation sessions, providing participants with practical and applicable strategies for developing publishable research outputs. Through this initiative, the University reinforced its commitment to strengthening research productivity, improving publication success, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, while promoting a forward-thinking research culture that responds to emerging academic and societal needs.
