Caraga State University (CSU), through the Office of Student Internship Programs (OSIP), successfully conducted a two-day workshop for the development of the CSU Student Internship Manual on April 22–23, 2026, at the CSU New Administration Conference Hall.

The initiative forms part of the University’s continuing efforts to enhance the quality and standards of student experiential learning. The workshop gathered university officials, directors, faculty, SIP Coordinators, and program coordinators to streamline internship policies and ensure alignment with national standards and CSU’s strategic vision.

The activity began with a rationale from Dr. Maria Elma Q. Won, OSIP Director, who emphasized the importance of a structured, outcomes-based internship program. Discussions during the first day focused on aligning internship initiatives with institutional goals. Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, Vice President for External Operations (VPEO), presented the Rota 2028 Strategic Roadmap, while Dr. Vicente A. Pitogo, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), highlighted the University’s direction in producing future-ready graduates through academic excellence and the LIKHA framework.

To ensure compliance with national policies, Dr. Frederick C. Amihan of CHED-Caraga provided an orientation on CHED Memorandum Order No. 10, series of 2023, or the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP). Dr. Glenn Arthur A. Garcia, Director of the Office of International and Global Engagement (OIGE), also shared insights into international student mobility, reinforcing CSU’s commitment to global competitiveness.

Participants were then grouped into breakout sessions representing various colleges, from the main campus and the Cabadbaran campus, to begin drafting the core components of the internship manual.

On the second day, the workshop focused on presentations, critiquing, and refining outputs. A panel composed of university officials, including the VPAA, VPEO, and the University Legal Officer, reviewed the drafts to ensure academic rigor and legal compliance.

The workshop concluded with an action-planning session led by the OSIP Director, setting timelines for finalizing and implementing the manual, and the awarding of certificates to participants.
