Caraga State University (CSU), through the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries (CAA), and Aston University (United Kingdom) officially solidified a global research partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 20, 2026, at the Office of the President Conference Room. 

The collaboration between the two higher education institutions is centered on pioneering research in Bioenergy and Biochar production. By combining resources and expertise, the partnership aims to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for agriculture, climate change mitigation, and environmental management.

The signing was graced by a delegation from Aston University, including representatives of the Supergen Bioenergy Hub, the Director of Energy & Bioproducts, Dr. Mirjam Röder, the Economic Development Lead, Dr. Thea Mae Baltazar, and Research Fellow, Dr. Romeo Gilbuena.

University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil personally received the delegation, along with the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries, Dr. Elizabeth P. Parac, the Director of the Office of Global Engagement and Internationalization, Dr. Glenn Arthur Garcia, and faculty members from CAA.
