
Aligning with the rapid evolution of the digital landscape, the Caraga State University (CSU) College of Education Graduate Studies successfully conducted a two-part international forum titled “Bridging Global Standards and Asian Perspectives: International Colloquium on University-Based Graduate Research” on April 11 and 18, 2026, at the Activity Center, HERO Learning Commons.
The forum highlighted the rapid advancement of innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) and its transformative impact on educational research, teaching practices, learning analytics, and educational management. It emphasized the need for research-driven, ethical, and context-responsive integration of AI into education to meet the demands of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions.



Featured on the forum were a roster of academicians, local and international, who offered diverse regional insights on integrating technology into the classroom. Among the speakers included CSU’s very own Professor Miraluna L. Herrera; Adjunct Professor Leong Yew Hoong from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Adjunct Professor Eunwha Lee from Silla University, Busan, South Korea; and Professor I Gede Adhitya Wisnu Wardhana from the University of Mataram, Indonesia.
Anchored in CSU’s LIKHA Agenda, the activity firmly reinforced the university’s mission to serve as a premier hub for academic excellence and innovation. Moreover, the forum directly supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 – Quality Education and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
The successful activity was spearheaded by the Committee Chair and Program Chairperson of the Mathematics Education Graduate Studies of the College of Education, Dr. Maris T. Lasco, together with the committee members: Dr. Emybel Alegre, Dr. Evelyn Ballenas, Dr. Julie S. Berame, Dr. Gladys L. Lagura, Dr. Sonia R. Low, Dr. Minie Bulay, and led by the Graduate Studies Dean, Dr. Junrie T. Matias, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Vicente Pitogo.
