Robert John D. Gipal, MAED-ELT, Instructor at CSU Cabadbaran Campus, secured a scholarship from the prestigious Fulbright Commission in the Philippines to teach, learn, and share Filipino culture in the United States of America.

Mr. Gipal was granted the 2025–2026 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA), a scholarship program for English language teachers in their early careers to serve as teaching assistants at a US university for one academic year. It aims at strengthening foreign language instruction while providing opportunities to increase their English language proficiency, refine their teaching skills, and extend their knowledge of the US culture.

Mr. Gipal will take classes on topics such as teaching methodology and American studies and is expected to participate in university programs and share the Filipino culture with colleagues and students, bridging cultures and fostering understanding between the Philippines and the US.

This feat reflects the unwavering dedication to the English teaching profession of CSU and the global caliber of its educators.

As he carries the torch of academic and cultural diplomacy, we look forward to the wealth of knowledge he will bring back to our university. | with report from CSU CC – General Education Department
