Caraga State University (CSU) has celebrated another remarkable milestone, being recognized as the top-performing academic institution in Southern Philippines under the Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Network (WEN) Ignite Program of the Wadhwani Foundation. Ranking first on a list of academic institutions, the Wadhwani Foundation announced on April 30, 2026, that CSU was being recognized as a powerhouse of venture creation and innovation from 2023 to 2026.
Adding to this achievement, Ms. Hannah Faye Capoy, a faculty member from the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), ranked 3rd in the Top 10 Faculty in Southern Philippines.
These recognitions highlighted CSU’s unwavering dedication to empowering students through impactful academic programs, industry-responsive initiatives, and a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. They also reflected the collective efforts of the University’s administration, faculty members, staff, and students in advancing quality education and producing future-ready graduates.
The WEN Ignite Program, a global initiative focused on accelerating job creation through entrepreneurship education, released its latest rankings based on the number of actual student-led ventures successfully launched. CSU led the charge, surpassing other notable universities in Mindanao.
This achievement stems from a dedicated effort to upskill the university’s workforce. In July 2023, Navigatu personnel, alongside faculty from the CSU Main and Cabadbaran campuses, underwent comprehensive training from the Wadhwani Foundation. This initiative was designed to master entrepreneurship education and accelerate CSU’s transition into a dedicated entrepreneurial university.
To formalize this commitment, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between CSU and the Wadhwani Foundation on January 30, 2024. This partnership continues to advance startup initiatives and innovative strategies, empowering students and faculty to remain at the forefront of transforming the regional economy.
