The university, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, welcomes participants across cities and municipalities of Agusan del Norte to this year’s Pride Month to provide an avenue for their advocacies, educational excursions, and community engagement. The event was held at the University Gymnasium and Cultural Center on June 24, 2026.
Organized through the partnership of GARBO Agusan del Norte, the Province of Agusan del Norte, and Caraga State University, this year’s celebration carries the theme, “Nagkahiusa sa Garbo: Building an Inclusive and Empowered Agusan del Norte.” Representatives from local government units, educational institutions, community organizations, and the LGBTQIA+ sector gathered to celebrate diversity and strengthen partnerships in advancing equality and human dignity.

After the opening ceremonies, a series of activities ensued, such as friendship games, literary events, forums, and other activities. Participants are encouraged to promote understanding, acceptance, and meaningful participation in creating inclusive communities for all.
A significant portion of the celebration was the ceremonial lighting of the torch that signified hope, unity, and the shared vision of building a more inclusive Agusan del Norte.
Messages of support were also shared to highlight the importance of creating spaces where everyone is respected, valued, and empowered, regardless of background, identity, or expression.
As an educational institution with students who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Caraga State University recognizes the importance of providing spaces where every individual is respected, valued, and heard. Moreso for Agusan del Norte, CSU hopes to be a place where diversity is celebrated, inclusion is practiced, and every individual can live with dignity, respect, and pride.
